HCL 30: If You're Coming On was the thirtieth mixed martial arts event held by the Human Cockfighting League. The event took place on Sunday, May 25, 2014 from the Honeypot in Tupelo, Mississippi. This event was the first of two shows celebrating the two-year anniversary of the Human Cockfighting League.
Event
This event featured seven sanctioned mixed martial arts bouts. All fights consisted of three five-minute rounds, except for the main event championship fight, which consisted of five five-minute rounds.
The main event of the evening featured the undefeated Enzo Antonioni falling short in a Heavyweight Championship shot against the champion Jorgi Magumbo, who now improves to 9-1 with that second round TKO. Antonioni proved to be a difficult task, changing styles mid-fight, but Magumbo's ever-improving ground game matched the unpredictability of Enzo. Ultimately, the African Knockout Prince stood victorious in his third straight title defense.
The co-main event saw the return of Gustaf Ackerman to the main event picture. After his loss to Caramel Thunderbird at HCL 25, The Gooz bounced back by dominating Walter Shunt, knocking him out in the mount like he had won so many fights before. No doubt this win would bounce Ackerman right back into title contention, possibly as soon as HCL 37.
Other notable fights from this show included a brutal knockout win by Pappy Goulash, dropping Bully Factory founder Ralph Marshall. David Duritz went to a decision for the first time in his career, and won his second straight fight against the struggling Montpelier Nash.
Stuart Peppers won his fight in the last minute over up-and-coming welterweight DeAndre Combs. However, there was word at the back that Peppers was looking to take leave from HCL. HCL officials were unsure whether this meant a sabbatical from MMA, an early retirement, or unhappiness with HCL. All Peppers said at the time was that he "needed something new".
